DR. Philip Cunnington MBBS FRCA DCHyp

Dr Philip Cunnington  is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Anaesthesia at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. He has been a consultant for over 12 years and his special interests are  children having ear, nose and throat surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery and urology surgery. He is also very interested in the management of anxious children who are having procedures. As a result of this interest he trained as a hypnotherapist and is a co-founder of POEMS for Children, a course aimed at teaching more effective communcation with children and managing their anxiety. He maintains a specialist interest in education, the management and prevention of procedure-related anxiety, performance anxiety and, in particular, anxiety related to examinations, interviews and presentations. He is a  Member of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists and a Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine
